COMPASSIONATE CARE

Janet Rucka-White, LPC Associate, Supervised by Melissa Fleming LPC-S, RPT-S, CCST-T

Feeling stuck is tough. Especially when it feels like you’ve tried everything and still can’t move forward. You’re spinning your wheels, unable to see a way out or a new perspective.

That’s why I love therapy—it creates the space to help you gain momentum and move toward something new. Together, we’ll figure out what “unstuck” looks like for you, and I’ll help you create meaningful change through connection, validation, gentle challenges, mini-experiments, and reflection.

My role isn’t to judge but to walk alongside you, sharing space and helping you grow stronger and more resilient. As a former teacher, I know how to adapt therapy to meet each person’s unique needs, making the process work for you.

I have ADHD and am a parent to neurodivergent kiddos. Between formal training and the lessons life teaches daily, I bring both professional and personal experience to our work together.

I’m a relational, attachment-oriented counselor, and I see the amazing qualities in my clients, even when they can’t see them yet. One of the best parts of my job is watching clients rediscover their strengths and learn to embrace the power they’ve had within themselves all along.

Let’s Get Things Back on Track

Am I the therapist for you?

Here’s what working with me is like:

Come as you are.

Acceptance and knowing that you can show up just as you are are essential to therapy. A non-judgmental space and attitude allows you to look at what’s going on and examine your feelings. I’m not perfect, and neither are you. Let’s go from there!

Our pace is determined by you.

This is your journey, and you have control. Whether you’ve had bad therapy experiences and aren’t sure this is right for you, or you are eager to make progress fast, I make sure you have the space to talk openly about how you feel therapy is going and how much progress you are making.

Therapy is hard work, but there is laughter, too.

Therapy doesn’t just take place during our weekly sessions. Insights, feelings, and new experiences are byproducts of therapy. But therapy can also mean laughter, jokes, relief, bursts of AHA moments, and excitement that you are moving toward a more authentic self.
